Globacom Limited is Nigeria’s Second National Operator providing GSM, Fixed, Broadband and Gateway services with subsidiaries in Nigeria, Republic of Benin, Ghana and other West African countries.

Recently, the conglomerate revolutionized the data services in and out of all West African Countries to the rest of the world with launch of the commercial services of Glo 1 submarine cable.With Points of Presence (POP) in the UK, Hong Kong, USA and Virtual POPs in France and Germany, Glo Gateway services manage roaming connections, voice and data traffic in both the local and international markets.

Due to growth, the company needs versatile professionals to fill various positions in Glo 1 and Gateway. The positions attract competitive remuneration.

Job Title: GATEWAY SWITCH ENGINEER
Location: Nigeria
Job Ref: GSE
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of a manager, coordinate technical interactions with POP and International Carriers
Manage International carriers connected at POP and local PTO’s in Nigeria
Ensure optimal performance of Gateway resources
Ensure high level of Quality of Service on International call termination
Assist in managing leased line for special projects (Blackberry, NLNG)
Assist in managing roaming link for voice and GPRS.
Manage International carriers trunk connection, reduction, expansion, decommission and suspension.

Requirements
Minimum of 5 years cognate experience in International Voice Wholesale or Voice Switching
Must be familiar with Local and International Interconnect Proficiency in SS7 Signalling, IP, SIGTRAN and other ITU standards
Must be highly analytical and have an eye for details.

General Qualifications
Relevant university degrees are required for all positions.
For the technical positions, a degree in Electrical/Electronic or Telecommunications Engineering Is preferred
For the non-technical positions a degree in Economics, Marketing or Business related discipline is preferred.
Relevant post graduate or professional qualification will be an added advantage.


Job Title: CARRIER SALES ACCOUNT MANAGER, GATEWAY
Location: Nigeria

Responsibilities
Manage new relationships with carriers and telecom service providers to drive sales efforts
Research, identify, establish and manage relations with carriers within allocated geographic region(s).
Negotiate carrier service contracts with various carriers.
Ensure prompt collection billed amounts and settlement of accounts
Keep track of the operational and commercial performance of the carriers and initiate improvement measure as may be required
Keep track of new developments in the international voice market with respect to available service technologies, pricing, service levels, and regulatory environment.
Develop new product streams to help increase revenues and service offering
Support customers in resolution of all technical, financial, legal and commercial issues.

Requirements
Minimum of 8 year experience in direct voice sales in the carrier market in a Telecommunications industry.
General Qualifications
Relevant university degrees are required for all positions.

Job Title: BUSINESS PLANNING EXECUTIVE, GATEWAY
Location: Nigeria

Responsibilities
Analyse commercial performance across all voice interconnect routing plans to ensure minimum margin compliance and route quality
Collaborate with carriers to ascertain the best workable routes at best cost
Assist in developing new pricing scenarios, assessing impact on Gateway sales, gross profit and net margin percentage targets
Cost management, rate negotiations, monitoring and adjustment as necessary based on regulatory and market trends
Generation of sales lead, pre-approval of rate issuance, advisory on rates enquiries and sales cycle management
Report generation and analysis of data based on business transactions and figures (internal & external, local, & global, etc)

Requirements
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in voice interconnect services preferably in the GSM mobile environment.

Location: Port Harcourt, Abuja

Responsibilities
Drive sales order value and revenue growth with named list of clients in Public Sector in Nigeria, with specific focus in either Port Harcourt/South South or Abuja/Central & Northern Markets.
Manage the complete sales process from opportunity identification, commercial negotiation, service activation, billing and invoice dispute resolution and trouble ticket management.

Requirements
Minimum of 8 years in selling voice, data and IP services to State Governments and other Public Institutions.
Good experience of the environment and business terrain.
Good Knowledge of the telecommunications landscape in Nigeria
Understanding of Internet Bandwidth sales, IPLC, National leased circuits, MPLS VPNs, Data Centre, VAS
Computer literate with proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint and MS Access.

Drive sales order value and revenue growth from Telco / ISP/Carrier 1 Enterprise segments in Europe with specific focus on UK market
Manage the complete sales process from opportunity identification, commercial negotiation, service activation, billing and invoice dispute resolution and trouble ticket management.
Manage technical relationship with Glo 1 Cable Landing Station and POP/Telehouse strategic partners, 3rd party suppliers and corporate/carrier clients.

Requirements
Minimum of 8 years’ telecommunications experience with a recognized international carrier marketing international data, voice and IP services
Combination of Technical and Commercial competency is a prerequisite
Knowledge of the African telecoms landscape is desirable.
Must have UK work permit.

Responsibilities

End to end business development including lead generation, order processing and order closure.
Manage the customer relationship with various global carriers, enterprises & domestic wholesale customers.

Requirements
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in selling voice, data and IP services to Telco/ISP/Carrier segments in Nigeria
Good understanding of internet bandwidth sales, IPLC, National leased circuits, MPLS, VPNs, Data Centre and VAS is required.
