FIRST BATCH OF DANGOTE GRADUATE DRIVERS TO COMPLETE TRAINING

First Batch of Dangote Graduate Drivers to Complete Training in January

The first batch of the 2,000 Dangote Graduate Drivers Training Scheme will conclude their training in January, 2013, an official has said. The scheme was launched in November at the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology.

 

The Director-General of the institute, Alhaji Aminu Yusuf, stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja on Monday. He said 2,000 graduates of various disciplines were expected to be trained under the scheme to become professional truck drivers. Yusuf explained that the training would be done in batches of 100 participants on quarterly basis over a period of four years which would end in 2016.

DANGOTE PLC Current Automatic Career Opening to First Class Graduates

The pan-African conglomerate, Dangote Group, is offering automatic employment to first class graduates of Kano University of Science and Technology, Wudil, the organisation has announced. Already, seven students of the university graduated with first class in the last academic year.

A statement from the Group said the gesture was part of the contributions of the company to the development of education and to motivate the students to be serious with their education. The statement further quoted the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Ibrahim Garba, who visited the Northern Office of Dangote Group, as expressing appreciation from the university to the Group, which he also noted had donated N100 million to the university as well as helping to launch an appeal fund to give the school a facelift.
